Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
he has paid us a call and ransomed his people,

and has reared a tusk of salvation
in the line of David his servant,

as he oft’ repeated through the mouth of his holy ones
his prophets from of old,

that saved from our adversaries
and from the grip of those who hate us,

he might render mercy to our fathers
remembering his sacred covenant,

a vow he settled with Abraham our father
to render us unafraid,
to deliver us from the grip of foes

to the service we can pay
in equity and righteousness
in his presence all our days.

You indeed child, will be called prophet of the Highest
going forward in view of the Lord to ready his road

to endow knowledge of salvation to his people,
to remedy their aimlessness

with the heart-felt mercy of our God
as he pays us a call like dawning from the heights

to shine upon those seated in dark and deadly shadows
to aim our feet straight onto the road to peace.
